Ok, so I posted this as a comment then realized I shouldn't be a dork and I should just post it as an entry. So this is my first lj entry...yay!

GAH!! I don't know what to think about the movie. There was some really great bits, but I was let down on a few bits as well.

Faves:
1. Ginny being powerful! Awesome! Loved that they emphasized that.
2. Luna was amazing. I heart Luna, perfectly awkward, slightly overdone but still fantastic.
3. Has Gary Oldman been reading fanfiction or something? He was all *flirty wink*, *twingy smile*, *huggy kissy*, 'I love James', 'Remus has my back'. I love Gary Oldman as Sirius and I think he did a fab job.
4. Lucius! yay...that's all I have to say about that.
5. Yay for great quotes! "emotional capacity of a teaspoon"! "the world isn't divided into good people and death eaters"! love!
6. Snape--Rickman is annoying, mean, funny, and sexy all at once (how is this possible?). McGonagall--:D
7. Thumbs up for it being completely different than the other films and visually interesting. I didn't feel it was dark at all...maybe they projected differently in my theatre.

Meh!
1. OotP!Dumbledore is standoffish and a bit scary so it fit Gambon's style...
2. Umbridge was more like the Riddler or some other comic book villain rather than a real character. Just a bit overdone IMO. I didn't hate her at all, she was just annoying like you said.
3. SWM--I was a bit disappointed I must say. I didn't expect too much given that I think the actors they chose were pretty terrible, but 10 seconds?? Throw a fan a bone, Harry seeing his dad is one of my fave moments in the book...sigh.
4. What the heck was with Petunia, the disgusting playboy bunny?? wtf!! I don't get it.
5. Maybe this is nitpicking but Harry was very angry (go Dan) but I wanted some more screaming! He wasn't screaming in the first #12 scene even though the twins say he is, and he didn't scream at the end in Dumbledore's office. Emo it up Harry! Release the wrath! ah well.
6. I know this just reflects my sad-fainting-fan-girl love for Tom Felton, but what is with his stupid undertaker-in-training suit. He was pretty lame just lurking about all the time, please make him evil in HBP and not just pathetic.
