My new favorite show. Well, I'm not sure if it's my favorite, but it's still wonderful and hilarious.

Excellent article on the relation between women's rights and the equality of men. Makes some great points!

I read Feed by MT Anderson all in one day on Saturday, which I never do!
It's a dystopian book set in America at least 100 years in the future. Everyone has a "feed" in their brains which bombards them with advertising. It's like an internal internet connection which people have become completely dependent on.
The main character is an asshole, but that's almost necessary to the story as the concentrated consumer society has made its inhabitants incredibly shallow and practically illiterate. News is so censored that people don't even know that the entire world is in danger and that protests are going on throughout the world against America's irresponsibility.
It's a scary picture. As much as I love technology. I'm not sure if humanity's self-awareness would allow such extreme measures, but it was definitely compelling.
I also finished The Well of Lost Plots. I didn't think it was quite as good as Lost in a Good Book, but it was a lot of fun. Fforde just makes me love books! I totally want a dodo. I can't wait to read the next. She better get Landen back!

1. YAY, thanks to
antagonist I have my layout! See the post here about how to do it. It was super easy and worked the first time for me :)
2. I've got 50 pages left in Dead and Gone. And as much as Mr. High Handed irritates me, he is amazingly hot, and their conversation was very interesting! Sucks to be Bill and Sam and Quinn and Jason and everybody else though, as usual :-/
3. I was supposed to be taking today off, but it looks like I'm going to have to go in for at least a few hours *grumble*

Trying the cross-posting thing for the first time. Mainly a test.
But also, I copied over the Custom CSS stuff from my LJ just to see what would happen, and it doesn't look entirely horrible! I mean it's not awesomely amazing, but if I could just get rid of the gray line down the right side it would be serviceable. Anybody know how to do that?? I changed to #ffffff everything that said anything " like border-right: 1px solid #e0e0e0 "
:/ Anyvey
I had a bunch of pictures printed, since pictures never seem as "real" stored on your computer as printed out. I made a sort of collage thing on my wall with them in the continuing fight to blight out the off-pink shade of walls, and it looks pretty cool I think. And a few bucks to Sam's Club to print pictures is definitely cheaper than over a hundred to buy some sort of framed artwork.

So I finished Breaking Dawn. Took me awhile because I kept getting sidetracked but I wasn't wholly disappointed. I'm pretty happy that I totally guessed what Bella's power would be! The whole compartmentalization and control = no newborn thing. Though she took it further with the whole bubble shield thing.
I can't say I was all that surprised about the vamp!baby plot either. For one thing Anne Rice used it (or something similar) and the fast growth thing was on Star Trek 15 years ago! Also, she's shown how important motherhood is to her. She has a very conservative view of women with Bella cooking and cleaning from day one for Charlie, both Rosalie and Esme longing for kids, and her comments about only mothers being able to understand certain things in the series.
It was a whole load of cliches, and I think I snorted a few dozen times--like with Edward's 'it never came up' about the werewolves lol, but it was entertaining and happy and interesting. I was sickly Disney-ish, and I must say that I'm a sucker for a cute Disney movie (no pun intended).

I realize I haven't done an actual real post in a long time. I've been very...distracted recently. But I've found some amazing music recently as well, and here's a bit of the 1950's version of Weird Al--Tom Lehrer. He has some really cool (and some really odd) stuff, but I thought this one was interesting (read 'cheeky'). It's called "Send the Marines".

yet I still managed to finish my taxes! yay for me *claps and screams for my rebate check*
I want a cat! my apartment doesn't allow it though :( but this video is hilarious.
