Breaking Dawn--better late than never

So I finished Breaking Dawn. Took me awhile because I kept getting sidetracked but I wasn't wholly disappointed. I'm pretty happy that I totally guessed what Bella's power would be! The whole compartmentalization and control = no newborn thing. Though she took it further with the whole bubble shield thing.

I can't say I was all that surprised about the vamp!baby plot either. For one thing Anne Rice used it (or something similar) and the fast growth thing was on Star Trek 15 years ago! Also, she's shown how important motherhood is to her. She has a very conservative view of women with Bella cooking and cleaning from day one for Charlie, both Rosalie and Esme longing for kids, and her comments about only mothers being able to understand certain things in the series.

It was a whole load of cliches, and I think I snorted a few dozen times--like with Edward's 'it never came up' about the werewolves lol, but it was entertaining and happy and interesting. I was sickly Disney-ish, and I must say that I'm a sucker for a cute Disney movie (no pun intended).
